Julie Howson-Chang, Physiotherapist

Julie grew up in small town Blyth, Ontario.  She attended Queen’s University in Kingston, receiving her Physiotherapy degree in 1992.  After working for two years, she traveled and worked as a Physiotherapist in New Zealand, before returning to Ontario.

Julie has a special interest in upper extremity conditions, having worked for 17 years in the Hand Therapy program at Stratford General Hospital.  She has attended professional development training in Chicago, Philadelphia, Vancouver, and locally in Ontario.  She passed the Certified Hand Therapist exam in 1998.  She looks forward to sharing this experience in assessing and treating a variety of upper-extremity injuries, tendon conditions, arthritis, as well as post-surgical rehabilitation.  Julie also has expertise in custom splinting, which is prescribed to treat an assortment of upper extremity conditions and in post-surgical rehabilitation.

When not at work, Julie spends time at the rink with her children’s ringette and hockey activities.  She also enjoys skating, downhill skiing, walking the dog, outdoor activities with the kids, and cottage life in the summer.
