Julie Howson-Chang, BScPT
Julie is a Registered Physiotherapist with a special interest in hand and upper extremity conditions.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Queen's University in 1992. After working for a couple years in various types of physiotherapy in an Ontario hospital, she traveled and worked as a Physiotherapist in New Zealand for a year.
Upon returning to Ontario, she focused her physiotherapy practice on hand and upper extremity injuries, working for many years in a hospital-based Hand Therapy program. She has attended professional development training in Chicago, Philadelphia, Vancouver, and locally in Ontario. She passed the Certified Hand Therapist exam in 1998. She has years of experience in assessing and treating a variety of upper-extremity injuries, ligament and tendon conditions, fractures, arthritis, as well as post-surgical rehabilitation. Julie also has expertise in custom splinting, which can help heal or manage an assortment of upper extremity conditions.
Julie joined Woolwich Physiotherapy in 2014 and she looks forward to working with you to optimize recovery and regain function after a hand issue, helping you work towards your activity goals.
Julie grew up in small town Blyth, Ontario, and now lives in Heidelberg with her husband, and 2 young adult children who come and go depending on school and work terms. Julie also enjoys dog walks, bike rides, downhill skiing, travel, and cottage life in the summer.
