Hand and Upper Limb
Julie Howson-Chang offers specialized physiotherapy services for the hand and upper extremity. Julie passed the Certified Hand Therapist exam in 1998 and has developed specific skills to provide treatment and splinting for a wide range of hand and upper extremity conditions, including acute post-op procedures or complex traumatic conditions.
Julie’s experience includes 17 years practicing in the Hand Therapy program at Stratford General Hospital, covering clinics for 2 plastic hand surgeons, as well as orthopaedic surgeons, family physicians, and transferred patients from London’s Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Clinic.
Julie treats a variety of conditions such as:
- Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS)
- De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
- Thumb Osteoarthritis (OA)
- Mallet Finger
- Swan Neck Deformity
- Post-surgical rehabilitation for hand, wrist and elbow fracture

Custom Splinting
Custom Splinting is available for many upper extremity conditions, including:
- De Quervain's Tenosynovitis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Thumb UCL Sprains
- Thumb OA
- Volar Plate Injuries
- Mallet Finger
- Boutonnière Deformity
- Arthritis (Resting Splints)
