What is Shockwave Therapy?

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), commonly referred to as shockwave therapy, uses acoustic waves to deliver high-energy pulses to injured areas of the body. These waves stimulate the body’s natural healing processes by enhancing blood circulation, regenerating damaged tissue, and activating the cells responsible for bone and connective tissue repair.

At Woolwich Physiotherapy, shockwave therapy is often used in combination with physiotherapy treatment to achieve optimal recovery. Treatments are typically provided once per week for 3–5 sessions, with continued healing benefits lasting up to three months after the final treatment.

Initial Assessment with Shockwave Therapy: $140

The College of Physiotherapists requires all Registered Physiotherapists to perform a thorough assessment before beginning any treatment, including shockwave therapy.

Subsequent Shockwave Treatments: $95 each
